2026 Regular Session - 75th General Assembly
The Colorado Legislature convened on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, and adjourned on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The Democrats retained control in both chambers: the House with a majority of 43-22, and in the Senate 23-12. The top priorities of the legislature were affordable housing, AI and Data Centers, and budget. A total of 626 bills were introduced, and 436 were passed - 12 were vetoed. 2025 Extraordinary Session on Federal H.R. 1
The Colorado Legislature convened for its 2025 Extraordinary Session, or "Special Session," on Thursday, August 21, 2025, and adjourned on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. 2024 Extraordinary Session on Property Tax
The Colorado Legislature convened for its 2024 Extraordinary Session, or "Special Session," on Monday, August 26th, 2024, and adjourned on Thursday, August 29, 2024. The Governor called for this Special Session to build upon bipartisan property tax relief that passed during the 2024 session and prevent the passing of two ballot measures, Initiative 50 and Initiative 108. 2024 Regular Session - 74th General Assembly
The Colorado Legislature convened on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, and adjourned on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. The Democrats retained control of both the House (46-19) and the Senate (23-12). 2023 Extraordinary Session on Property Tax
The Colorado Legislature Convened for its 2023 Extraordinary Session, or "Special Session," on Friday, November 17, 2023, and adjourned on Monday, November 20, 2023. The Governor called for this Special Session with the goal of providing immediate property tax relief and relief for renters. Specifically, the Governor recommended the legislature create a property tax "relief package" that balances the interest of schools and local governments. 7 bills were passed and were further debated during the 2024 Regular Session.
